How much horsepower does a Tesla Model Y have?

Tesla does not publish one official combined peak-horsepower figure for every Model Y version. Homologation documents may list individual motor output or a nominal value that is not the system’s peak output. Horsepower figures in adverts should therefore be treated as third-party estimates; use Tesla’s official acceleration time, drivetrain and VIN for a reliable comparison.

2025+ Model Y versus 2020–2024 cars

The updated 2025+ Model Y has redesigned front and rear sections, new lighting, revised suspension, better sound insulation, a 16-inch centre display and a rear display in Premium versions. Tesla reports less road, impact and wind noise, and approximately 5% more range from the same battery energy than the previous model.

What is the ground clearance of a Tesla Model Y?

There is no single Model Y ground-clearance figure for every year and trim. The European 2025+ manual lists approximately 152–164 mm unladen for standard RWD/AWD, up to 167 mm for Premium and 151 mm for Performance. Laden clearance can fall to 113–122 mm. For the 2020–2024 Model Y, Tesla listed 172 mm for non-Performance cars and 157 mm for Performance with two occupants.

That is why the simple answer “Model Y clearance is 167 mm” applies only to a particular configuration. Before buying, check the version, wheels, suspension and any non-standard lowering. Underbody condition matters on Ukrainian roads, and the car must be raised only at Tesla’s specified lifting points.

Real-world Tesla Model Y range

WLTP is useful for comparing versions, but it does not guarantee the same motorway distance. Actual range changes with speed, temperature, wind, elevation, tyres, wheels, load and climate use. The best estimate for a particular car comes from its average consumption on a similar route.

Use the formula available battery energy ÷ average consumption × 100. Do not rely on an unofficial “battery capacity” in an advert: Model Y vehicles use different packs and Tesla does not normally state usable capacity in the configurator. Identify the battery from the VIN and vehicle diagnostics.

Cold weather increases heating demand and can temporarily limit available energy, regenerative braking and charging speed. Tesla recommends preconditioning the cabin and battery 30–45 minutes before departure, preferably while plugged in. Charging a Tesla Model Y in Ukraine

A European Model Y uses Type 2 for AC and CCS2 for DC charging. Its onboard charger accepts up to 11 kW from 400 V three-phase power or 7.4 kW from 230 V single-phase power. Current versions support up to 175 or 250 kW DC, although peak power depends on temperature, state of charge, battery condition and station output.

Used Tesla Model Y pre-purchase checklist

1. VIN and market. Confirm model year, factory, version, drivetrain and warranty region.
2. Damage history. For a US import, obtain auction photos and inspect body geometry and the battery casing underneath.
3. High-voltage battery. Check fault codes, cell balance, available energy and stable AC/DC charging.
4. Connector and adapter. Complete a real session on a compatible public charger before paying for the car.
5. Suspension, tyres and alignment. Uneven tyre wear may indicate geometry or suspension problems.

For example, certain 2026 Model Y vehicles are covered by a battery-contactor campaign, while some 2020–2025 vehicles received a TPMS software remedy. That does not mean every car is affected; status is determined by VIN.

Interior, practicality and infotainment

Standard configurations have five seats, while a seven-seat layout is available for selected European Premium AWD cars. Tesla counts underfloor storage and the front trunk in its cargo figure, so the quoted total of 2,118–2,138 litres is not directly comparable with a competitor’s conventional boot measurement.

Most functions are controlled through the centre touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not supported as standard. Check Autopilot and paid software packages in the specific vehicle’s menu because names and enabled features vary by market and can change when ownership is transferred.
