Electric cars have already become commonplace even on Ukrainian roads. We are getting more and more accustomed to an ecological mode of transport. But infrastructure continues to lag behind demand. Therefore, TOKA has been actively developing its network of electric charging stations throughout Kyiv and Ukraine for several years.
When deciding to buy an electric car, it is very important to take care of its recharging in advance. Although there are already quite a lot of charging stations in Kyiv, they are not located on every street. Now such charging stations are concentrated in the most densely populated areas of the capital. They are located in parking lots of shopping centers, near sports clubs, in night parking lots and areas with convenient transport links.
Types and methods of charging
Unfortunately, electric cars are only gaining popularity among manufacturers and consumers. The companies are still at the beginning of the development of a network of charging stations. Refueling is not as easy as refueling a regular car. But automakers are actively developing infrastructure and ways to replenish electricity in batteries.
At the moment, there are four main ways to charge an electric car:
-
Regular wall outlet. Every electric vehicle can be recharged from a household power outlet. This is a versatile and cheap method, but it takes a lot of time. A modern electric car will charge from 12 to 30 hours.
-
Household charging station. Many car manufacturers also sell a charging station to their models. It speeds up the charging process but is still slow. In fact, such a station will help you "refuel" a couple of hours faster.
-
Household three-phase station. A faster way to charge your own electric car at home. But its cost is quite high. It is also necessary to provide a 380-volt three-phase power supply. Charging will take up to 8-10 hours. These are additional costs and loss of time for the approval of the project with government agencies.
- Fast electric charging network. The most convenient and fastest way to replenish energy in batteries. Depending on the type and power of the station, as well as on the car model, it is possible to charge the electric car up to 80% in just 30 minutes. The only negative is that you have to pay for electricity right away.
It is worth noting that most electric filling stations are universal and suitable for almost any car. They are usually equipped with several connectors for the most popular standards. Automakers also worry about their customers and add universal cables to the standard package.
The process of charging a car is not more difficult than charging a mobile phone. It is enough to connect the connector to the car and turn on the station.

But the main thing is the ability to see the operability, the occupancy of the charging ports, and also find out how much charging costs in the online mode.
For even better navigation around the city and finding an electric car station, you can use the TOKA CHARGING STATIONS app. Also, this program keeps statistics on charge cycles, can switch the charging station on and off without contact, shows the charging status, and can also search for the station closest to you.
The cost of charging an electric car in Kyiv
